Alba Roses

These would have been the roses the Romans grew. They are big shrubs with arching stems.
The pink or white flowers are produced in abundance but only for a short period in late spring - early summer.
They are as tough as old boots and often crop up in derelict gardens.

In the park Alba Semi-plena can be seen - the photo here was taken in November 2012.
