Damask Roses have been cultivated since before Roman times.
Famous for their intense perfume they are still grown widely for the production of the essential oils used in perfumes.
Some Damasks flower only once a year in late Spring - early summer. Other varieties can produce flowers in Autumn as well.
Shown here is Kazanlik (aka Trigintepetala).
Other Damasks in the park include Leda and Quatre Saisons (which can flower twice a year).
